International Dot Day takes place on Friday, September 15, 2023. Dot Day is staged to encourage people of all ages to harness their creativity. The inspiration behind the event is the children’s book, The Dot, by Peter H. Reynolds. It relates the tale of a teacher who challenges one of his female pupils to take courage in her abilities, and from a dot on a page, the youngster goes on to make her mark.

National "Read a Book" Day is Wednesday, September 6, 2023. It is observed annually on September 6th and invites EVERYONE to grab a book and read! We never keep this day to ourselves, so read aloud to your children, or better yet, let your children read aloud to you! Parents, grandparents, other relatives, and school partners will be able to read to individual classes and/or assist with reading day activities in the media center. See Dr. Barber by August 23, 2023 if you would like to volunteer.
