Heritage Academy Media Center

Policies and Procedures

Class Visits

​

Each class will visit the media center bi-weekly for 45 minutes. During class visits, students may check out books, participate in digital literacy lessons, listen to read-alouds, conduct research, or learn how to use new technology and/or apps.

​

Book Checkout

Students in PreK - 5th grades can check out 2 books each week. 

Individual Visits

​

Students are encouraged to visit the media center daily throughout the day with a library pass. If Dr. Barber is busy with a class, students are welcomed to self-checkout books.

Staff Books and

Equipment Checkout

​

Staff may checkout as many books as they like for no longer than 30 days. 

 

All Chromebook and iPad carts must be returned to the Media Center daily by 2:30 pm each day.

Lost or Damaged Books

​

Books that are lost or damaged must be paid for on or before the last day of school. Although there is no fee for overdue books, any book overdue for more than 30 days will be considered lost and the fee must be paid. Money orders should be made payable to Heritage Academy (checks and credit cards not accepted). Cash payment is accepted, but it must be the exact amount of the book fee. Refunds will be given if a book is found and returned.

Enter and exit the media center quietly.

Respect everyone and everything in the media center.

​

Keep hands, feet, objects, and unkind words to yourself.

​

Return all materials to their designated areas before leaving the media center.
